What is Erythritol?
Erythritol is a sugar alcohol that occurs naturally in certain fungi, algae and in some fruits in small quantities. When we produce this substance, we do it by fermentation from glucose. Our product is originally from corn and is organic.
How sweet is the product?
Erythritol is not as sweet as sugar, it gives about 60 - 70 percent of sugars sweetness. Erythritol can also be mixed with sugar or other sweeteners. Erythritol has its taste benefits, as it doesn’t give the same unwanted aftertaste as other sweeteners.
How to use the product?
This product can be used as a sweetener in cold and hot drinks. It is stable in its taste up to 160 ° C. Can be used as a sweetener in desserts, smoothies and baking. However, when baking with this product, the same dark surface isn't formed, as there is nothing in the product that can be caramelized.
Erythritol is calorie-free and is mainly metabolized in the small intestine. Other sugar alcohols can have a laxative effect at high consumption, which is a minor problem with this product, as its molecules are very small and a very small amount continues to the large intestine.
